An Irish woman's social, political and domestic commentary

On a lighter note, this Guardian article on the new Band Aid single is kinda funny. Here's a quote:
"Glamour, or the lack of it
The modern pop star seems to have lost a great deal of the flamboyant otherness that characterised his/her 80s predecessors. The 84 line-up contained three ill-advised hats, a number of pairs of leather trousers, plenty of daft boots (Sting's are a particular treat), and several examples of Big Hair. 2004's Band Aid participants, unfortunately, ooze all the workaday drabness of people dressed by Mark One and The Gap. Then, our stars dressed up; now, terrified that they might be lacking the required streetsiness, they aim down. Shame."
