Rosin Ingle in the Phoenix Hadn't see the Phoenix in a while but much reading in it today including a critique of Roisin Ingle's column and book. Here's a worrying quote: "In fairness, basing a column around the ups-and-downs of one's personal life is a tough brief at the best of times, and with Ingle's egocentric style offering precious little in the way of insight, she frequently attempts to compensate through light hearted attempts at humour. Unfortunately too ofen her work comes across like a Seinfeld episode without the laughs. The SINDO has developed a whole new form of print journalism in encouraging mostly young and female enthusiasts to gush out their haphazard reactions to the passing scene. It is a form of communication best suited to radio, fluent, fatuous and totally forgettable. The IT is in danger of following the same route." A salutory warning I think. Time to beef up a little perhaps? posted by Sarah | 21:02 2 comments
